Key Responsibilities:

You will be accountable for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitization, and compliance with health regulations of hospital wards, patient rooms, restrooms, corridors, operating areas, and administrative spaces in your capacity as a Hospital Cleaner.

The primary responsibilities that you are responsible for are

• Vacuuming, mopping, and sweeping surfaces
• Disinfection and cleaning of medical offices, patient rooms, and restrooms
• Restocking toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and disinfectant
• Proper and secure management of medical waste disposal
• Properly employing hospital-grade disinfectants, tools, and cleansing chemicals
• Utilizing buffers, auto scrubbers, or floor polishing devices
• Notifying any malfunctions, hazards, or damages to cleansing equipment
• Adhering to infection prevention and control (IPAC) protocols
• Assisting with urgent cleaning requirements (e.g., following patient discharges or operations)

Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

• Proficiency in the fundamentals of English, including reading, writing, and speaking
• Capable of lifting up to 20 kg and standing for extended periods of time, as well as being physically fit
• A dedication to hygiene and a meticulous attention to detail
• Willingness to work in a hospital setting with patients
• Flexibility in terms of schedules (mornings, evenings, nights, weekends)
• A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification

Preferred but Not Required:

• Experience in the cleansing of commercial or hospital facilities
• Proficiency in the standards of Canadian healthcare and the International Patient Assessment Code (IPAC)
• Certification in First Aid and WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)
