UAE Family Group Tourist Visas 2024 – Apply Now

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA-D) offers a family group tourist visa service that is beneficial for families traveling to the United Arab Emirates. Accredited travel agents are how parents and their children can submit applications for family group visas, as indicated in a Gulf News article published on November 1.

If you intend to travel to the UAE with your family, this is all the information you require regarding this visa option.

How to apply

Contacting a travel agency in the United Arab Emirates is effortless because the majority of them allow you to submit the documentation online, via email, or WhatsApp.

A legible copy of your passport and passport-sized photos are all that is required. As reported by Gulf News, Joseph Lancy Dsouza, general manager of Arabian Nights Travel and Tourism in Dubai, stated, “You can submit these to a travel agency, and they will apply for your family’s visa as a group, and it will be collectively approved.”

He continued by stating that this is a more efficient and cost-effective alternative for families, as there is no visa fee for minors under the age of 18. The travel agency may impose a service charge for the visa processing. The visa application for your family can be submitted jointly by travel agents, and it will be granted as a group.

What is the cost of the visa?

According to Gulf News, travel companies have indicated that the service charge for children and the price for adults in the group application may vary depending on the applicant’s nationality. For example, adult Indian family members frequently pay between Dh300 and Dh350 per individual.

Despite the absence of visa fees for children, administrative fees may be incurred for each child’s application, which typically ranges from Dh80 to Dh100.

It is advisable to reach out to the agency in advance to inquire about their fees, as processing expenses may vary significantly among agencies.

Documents required

Candidates are required to submit only two primary documents, as per Myrna Quindoyos, the administrative officer at East and West Travels LLC, a Dubai-based company:

  • Passport photocopy
  • a photograph that is compatible with a passport

However, you may also be required to submit the following documentation on occasion:

  • Children’s birth certificates
  • National identification card
  • Bank statement
  • Reservation for a hotel
  • Marriage certificate
  • Ticket for return

If you are a citizen of a country where the passport contains the names of your parents, you are not required to submit a birth certificate. However, the birth certificate must be presented if the parents’ names are not included in the children’s passports. This may also be necessary if the parents are of different nationalities. In certain instances, you may also be required to provide a marriage license.

In addition, applicants and nationals of specific age categories may be required to submit their national identification card or bank statement. If the children’s passports do not include the names of their mothers or fathers, the birth certificate must be submitted.

How long is the visa valid for?

According to GDRFA-D, travel agencies are now eligible to file for short-term tourist visas, which have a maximum validity of 30 to 60 days and can be extended to 120 days if necessary.

What is the expected time frame for the Visa to be received?

Dsouza asserts that the visa is typically issued in a manner that is significantly quicker than the three or four days it may take for the application to be accepted.
